Hero fights off weed dispensary robbers with a bong

This hero defended his dispensary against a squad of robbers, brandishing a bong against their bear spray until they were forced out of the store.  And it was all caught on video.  CCTV footage, posted by YouTuber Big Daddy Dishrags, shows the mystery hero walking into a cannabis shop in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, Canada with an impossible tiny dog trailing behind him. There's just under a minute of peace and quiet in the little cannabis shop as our hero and his colleague work behind the counter.  SEE ALSO: These stoner hackers want machine learning to save us from sick weed Then a crew of four robbers "brandishing canisters of bear spray," according to the police report, burst into the store.  Read more...More about Weed, Robbery, Bong, Culture, and Web Culture Source: Marshable&#

Last night, a man took a relaxing hit off a joint. Or, to put it another way for readers in California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Alaska, Nevada, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, and the District of Columbia: It was a Thursday. The man happened to be Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and SpaceX. The joint — technically a spliff or blunt, as it was marijuana mixed with tobacco — happened to be proffered by comedian and wrestling commentator Joe Rogan, who was streaming his show live from the state of California. "It's legal, right?" asked Musk as he took Rogan up on his offer.   SEE ALSO: Elon Musks opens up about the toll Tesla takes on him Read more...More about Tesla, Marijuana, Cannabis, Marijuana Legalization, and Culture Source: Marshable

Elon Musk, the multibillionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, makes a ruckus with 280-character tweets, so is it smart to let him rant for two and a half hours on video? Well, we've just found out.  Musk was a guest on Joe Rogan's podcast Thursday evening, and boy did they have a lot of topics to go through.  SEE ALSO: Things got weird for Elon Musk on Twitter In contrast to a recent interview with The New York Times, in which Musk opened up on the emotional, psychological, and physical toll of working as CEO of several high-profile companies, he's been closer to his Twitter persona on Rogan's show (and no, I don't mean the one that seemingly baselessly accuses divers of being pedophiles).  Read more...More about Elon Musk, Weed, Joint, Elon Musk Smokes, and Tech Source: Marshable

Nothing harshes a good mellow like sick buds. Thankfully, there may one day be an app for that.  Hidden from the hazy Friday afternoon of Las Vegas, tucked away in the basement of the Flamingo casino, a group of likeminded hackers and security researchers gathered to explore "DIY cannabis tech" at DEF CON's Cannabis Village. One researcher in particular, Harry Moreno, told the rather laid-back crowd that he believed that machine learning could one day solve a huge problem for home-grow enthusiasts: determining whether or not, and in what capacity, a marijuana plant is sick. Holding weed? Your Uber driver can get you banned from the app

Holding weed? Your Uber driver can get you banned from the app

Your Uber driver is not your friend. In fact, they may very well be narcing on you right now — and you could get banned from the ride-hail app as a result. The company's Community Guidelines strictly prohibit "bringing open containers of alcohol or drugs into the car," and that apparently includes weed. Marijuana, of course, is recreationally legal in nine states and the District of Columbia, but that doesn't mean Uber is cool with it.  SEE ALSO: Uber employees 'really enjoyed' London play about Travis Kalanick One rider found that out the hard way after he got a notification from the company threatening "permanent account deactivation." The offense? Allegedly bringing some drugs into the vehicle. Read more...More about Uber, Marijuana, Weed, Ride Hailing Apps, and Tech Source: Marsh

Meeting new people and dating is terrible as it is, but when you're a cannabis consumer, it's even worse. Say you're on a first date and everything is going very well. You have genuine chemistry and a good rapport with your date, you have the same taste in movies and TV shows, and then you mention you like to smoke a joint or two after work.  Suddenly, everything gets awkward because cannabis still has a negative stigma in some circles of society. If only there was a way to meet singles who share your passions. Lucky for you, there are unique dating sites for just the occasion. Want to microdose marijuana? This company is making it easier for you.

It's rare that you find a company that specifically wants to help you use its product less, especially in the marijuana space. But that's just what vaporizer maker Pax Labs is delivering in an update to its Pax Era device and app Tuesday: the ability to inhale cannabis in truly tiny doses. This is unusual, because the era of pot prohibition was all about more: growers with limited space competed to give you a bigger and better high, packing their strains of weed with ever greater amounts of THC (and more recently the other major active ingredient, CBD).  SEE ALSO: What's killing more pedestrians: smartphones or legal weed?
